RHINOPLASTY
Enhance Your Appearance, Feel Empowered, Breathe Easier...
For many, their nose is something they overlook. However, if you find that you don’t like the appearance of your nose or can’t breathe through your nose or both, you are a candidate for rhinoplasty. We can address both nasal breathing and outer appearance in the same surgery to deliver a nose you love that also works the way it should! Our philosophy is that the nose should not attract attention to itself; it should complement your face and bring out other features like your eyes and smile.

The Benefits of Rhinoplasty
With rhinoplasty, the benefits are more than just skin deep. While it has the potential to drastically improve your self confidencewill certainly change who you see in the mirror, it can do so much more:
- Let you customize the shape and size of your nose (including the tip, bridge, and nostrils)
- Improve overall facial appearance and profile
- Correct structural abnormalities due to injury or genetics (like a deviated septum)
- Enable you to breathe out of your nose
- Enhance sleep (which leads to better mood and more focus)
Sleep breathing issues (such as snoring and sleep apnea) can often be connected to a patient’s inability to breathe through their nose. A lack of quality sleep can be extremely damaging to someone’s physical and mental health, putting untold strain on their personal and professional relationships as well as their energy level. But a rhinoplasty has the potential to correct this issue while dramatically boosting your confidence in the process.
The Rhinoplasty Process
- Initial Consultation: You’ll have a chance to sit down with Dr. Khayat and talk about the changes you’d like to make. You’re encouraged to bring pictures of yourself as well as people with noses you like. A discussion will ensue with Dr. Khayat where reasonable goals will be outlined. She’ll take photographs of your face and nose to better explain the changes that can be made.
- Exam: At the same appointment, Dr. Khayat will examine your nose and take your medical history to ensure that you are healthy enough for surgery. She recommends having a list of any medications you are taking on hand so you don’t have to remember them off the top of your head!
- Rhinoplasty Procedure: Dr. Khayat will perform your rhinoplasty in an outpatient facility under general anesthesia to ensure utmost safety and comfort. The time it takes to perform your rhinoplasty will vary based on your specific structural abnormalities and requirements of surgery but varies from 3-6 hours. You will most likely be able to go home on the day of your surgery after you emerge from anesthesia and recover for several hours under monitored conditions in the PACU. You should plan to have a trusted friend or family member drive you before and after. They should stay with you for at least 24 hours after surgery as you will be unsteady on your feet until anesthesia completely wears off.
- Recovery: An external cast will be placed on your nose to help it maintain its new shape and internal splints will be sutured in place to reduce the risk of hematoma and help support the reconstruction. You will be asked to take it easy and relax. You should avoid strenuous physical activity for a few weeks, and of course, do NOT blow your nose. Dr. Khayat will give you a personalized guide for a smooth recovery so you can start enjoying your final results as soon as possible.
